Commodity Watch: Copper futures slip on muted demand

New Delhi: Copper futures on Thursday fell by 0.13 per cent to Rs751.90 per kilogram as participants cut their positions amid a muted demand in the domestic market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery eased by Re1 or 0.13 per cent to Rs751.90 per kg in a business turnover of 4,202 lots. Analysts said trimming of positions by speculators amid a muted demand in the spot market mainly dragged down copper prices in the futures trade.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Thursday grew 0.12 per cent to Rs204.55 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium contracts for March delivery increased25 paise or 0.12 per cent to Rs204.55 per kg in a business turnover of 3,880 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
